In less than two weeks, duringthe last part of September andfirst part of October, we had threetropical storms pass through themountains. The storms did a lot ofdamage to electrical lines and roads, and tore down many trees. The bean harvest has beendramatically affected, which isthe basic food crop of the Hondurans. The price of beans has doubleddue to the storms.Thankfully the homes inthe mountain were not hit withextreme damage. The local peoplehave been busy clearing roads of fallen trees to use for firewood.
After 13 years, themission septic tankstopped working. We hadseveral men working dailyto dig through 15 feet ofrock to get to the septic. The project tooktwo weeks of hard laborto complete. We arevery thankful to have aworking septic tankagain.
